What I really enjoy about painting is being able to capture a mood, or a moment in time ,which causes people to pause and relax.
In today's society we often feel overwhelmed by the frantic pace of life in which we're caught up.
Yet, that's exactly the opposite from what the Creator has encouraged us to do when He calls us to "be still…"
My hope is that you will take the time to "be still" and see a small piece of this world through different eyes.

Growing up in Manitoba's Interlake was a gift of diversity for me. I had an advantage of the most beautiful prairie with skies and sunsets beyond what anyone could ever imagine. Within a short drive I could be watching the fishing boats come in at Gimli harbour with their latest catch.
There was a wonderful diversity of culture as well. Ukranian, Icelandic, Scottish, Aboriginal, and a host of others from various countries. Each weaving their unique color and customs into this area. They all helped this "prairie boy" to see a bigger world.
Maybe diversity could describe my life as well. Commercial artist, graphic designer, sign painter, picture framer, businessman, musician and dulcimer builder.
All have had an influence on me as a painter.
In my work you will notice that I work in two very different medium as well. My pen and ink prints reflect my commercial art background. They are more detailed as I capture interesting buildings and landmarks. But I love watercolors for their spontaneous, fluid character. They are fresh and wonderfully challenging.
I invite you to take a few minutes, relax and enjoy my art.
